LOS ANGELES, CA/TAMPA, FL—It's almost NightMoves Awards time again, and nominations for the 26th annual event were recently announced—and global adult entertainment creator Wicked Pictures wants to congratulate all of its 2018 nominees. Wicked's already awarded filmmakers earned over a dozen nominations for films made with the company, including Best Director recognition for Brad Armstrong, Axel Braun, Jonathan Morgan, and Stormy Daniels.
The noms which went to celebrated performer, writer, art director, and filmmaker Brad Armstrong spoke to the eclectic nature of his talent. His timely hit drama Camgirl received a Best Feature Production nomination, while his groundbreaking collaboration with Wicked contract star Jessica Drake, Jessica Drake is Wicked, earned recognition in the highly competitive Best Star Showcase category. Armstrong's mastery of such diverse genres was rewarded with a Best Feature Director nomination.
Parody king and gonzo virtuoso Axel Braun secured an impressive collection of nominations, including Best Production Company (Axel Braun Productions), Best Non-Feature Director, and Best Parody/Spoof Release, the latter for his multi-award-winning Wicked Comix blockbuster Justice League XXX: An Axel Braun Parody. Two of his non-feature titles, Inked 4 and Specs Appeal 2, earned mentions in the Best All Sex/Gonzo Release category, while a third, Asian Connection 2, received a Best Ethnic/Interracial Release nomination.
Director Jonathan Morgan's stylish couples drama Call Me was recognized with a Best Feature Production nom, while the veteran filmmaker's diverse output for the year was rewarded with a nomination for Best Feature Director. Unbridled, a big-budget romance shot in Texas for the Wicked Passions franchise during Stormy Daniels' tenure with the company, was also nominated for Best Feature Production. Finally, as befits a company earning accolades in such eclectic areas of production, directing, acting, performance and eroticism, Wicked Pictures received a Best Production Company nomination.
For his part, President and owner Steve Orenstein couldn’t be more pleased to see the company's many labels—including Wicked Showcase, Wicked All-Sex, Wicked Comix, Wicked Feature, and Wicked Passions—rewarded so handsomely, observing, “We’re thrilled to see filmmakers nominated for such a wide range of projects. We strive to create the best movies we can and we appreciate NightMoves for noticing.”
