LOS ANGELES—2018 AVN Awards Best New Starlet nominee Whitney Wright continues to push her career with performances in a spate of new showcase scenes, an upcoming screenplay writing gig and her first XRCO Awards nomination.
Of particular note to Wright is her latest performance for Pure Taboo, titled The Last House on the Right. Co-directed by Bree Mills and Craven Moorehead, the vignette was just released May 1.
“I’m really proud of this scene,” says Wright, who stars as a schoolgirl who ditches class, shoplifts and trespasses onto an abandoned property with partner-in-crime Eliza Jane—only to stumble upon an enraged and confrontational vagrant (Chad Alva).
Mills, who has also shot the actress for her Girlsway studio, has further engaged with the 2018 AVN Best New Starlet nominee, commissioning her to write a screenplay and cast the leads for an upcoming project.
“This will be my first time writing a scene and casting, so it’s a big deal,” said Wright. “Bree and I are collaborating on this project in the next couple of weeks, so I’m eager to see how that turns out!”
Wright can also be seen in Showtime’s newly released Best in Sex: 2018 AVN Awards, and will be on hand next month at the 2018 XRCO Awards in Los Angeles to compete for the title of Best New Starlet.
“It’s been such an incredible ride in such a short period of time,” said Wright, who has been in the industry for less than two years. “I’m so grateful for the opportunities and excited for the future.”
