CYBERSPACE—Tristan and Rutger of WeCamGirls are this week’s guests on "Adult Site Broker Talk."
Tristan is a lawyer by profession and has worked in the adult market for over ten years. He tried practicing law but didn't enjoy it, so he co-founded a company with his buddy Rutger. Football—"the genuine thing, like in the one you play with your feet, (not the egg ball thing from the US)" he explains—is one of his pastimes. Watches, golf, Legos, and eating decent cuisine are others.
Rutger earned a master's degree in Econometrics. He began developing his first websites in the late 1990s. Basketball, shoes, golf, nice cuisine, and Legos are among his interests.
They both reside in the same region of the Netherlands, close to Amsterdam.
In 2012, Tristan and Rutger established a cam model community. Even though the site is named WeCamGirls, there are male models there as well.
One of their friends, a former webcam model, had told them about her online experiences. When asked what she believed were the most difficult aspects of being a performer, she stated two things: The first was that she didn't enjoy not being able to speak to many people about what she does for a career, and the second was that not being able to do so bored her.
WeCamGirls was founded in March 2012 as a chat system and forum for performers to discuss various sites and current technology. It includes new features such as a commercial profile page, camgirlcollective.com, and a review area.
