CYBERSPACE—As most exotic dancers and pole fans already know, Polecon 2020 has been postponed a couple of times, and the in-person version was cancelled in late June. But all is not lost: Virtual PoleCon, the online version of the event, will be taking place on Saturday, October 17, 2020, and it's a one-day event beginning at 9 a.m. and running till 9 p.m. ET.
In order to take part in the event, attendees must purchase a ticket by October 15, at which time they will receive a unique link to join the event in an email.
This year's virtual Polecon activities will include live seminars, workshops (movement-based, non-pole) and panel discussions, plus the Polecon site will have vendor "booths" that attendees can "visit," and they'll be able to network via video with existing friends and soon-to-be friends, all capping off with a live show featuring representatives from every Polecon showcase at the convention.
The nicest part? One $50 ticket gives the purchaser access to the entire virtual convention for the entire day—and they can log on and off as many times as they want. Virtual PoleCon will also be recorded, and all footage will be hosted on the IPIA website, though some recordings will be for IPIA members only.
The full schedule for Virtual Polecon 2020 can be found here, which is also where tickets may be purchased.
For those interested in becoming an exhibitor, there's still time to sign up, and virtual booths are only $25. Click here to buy.
