LOS ANGELES—The Transgender Erotica Awards, the trans-centric awards show hosted by Grooby, has re-branded itself as the Trans Erotica Awards. The show will still be known as the TEAs. The two-day event is traditionally held annually in Hollywood, CA, and welcomes guests from all over the world.
“We think of the TEAs as a living, breathing entity in many ways,” said TEA executive producer Kristel Penn. “It’s one that has evolved multiple times throughout its history and we believe it’s time for it to do so again. Shifting our language in this way feels more inclusive to the community we’re celebrating.”
The 2022 dates for the TEAs have not yet been formally announced, as organizers wish to see how in-person events are handled in Los Angeles to protect the safety of guests and staff.
“Traditionally, TEA season begins now,” explained Penn. “COVID has changed all of it drastically. The last TEAs were hosted online and we are continuing to monitor (along with the Avalon) how things are progressing here in Los Angeles. We are expecting to have a live awards show with guests in some format, with more details to be announced in the coming months.”
