LOS ANGELES—The adult webcam site Stripchat has begun accepting Dogecoin cryptocurrency.
The company announced the move today, giving users an alternative payment system for users. The action comes after Elon Musk tweeted last month that "Dogecoin is the people's Crypto."
"We are always looking to adopt better technologies and offer more convenient ways for our users to make payments. If adding Doge can improve Elon Musk's and people's experience on Stripchat, we are here to accept it," said Max Bennet, VP of new media. “Both users and models are more actively using Crypto as their preferred payment methods. We have seen a 400 percent increase in the number of Cryptocurrency transactions since the beginning of 2020, and 10 percent of all active models on Stripchat are using Crypto as their primary payout method.”
