LOS ANGELES—Cultural scientist and porn scholar Madita Oeming will serve as a special guest moderator on the #SexTalkTuesday podcast at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT tomorrow at sextalktuesday.com.
“Madita Oeming’s contributions to porn industry advocacy are more timely than ever," said Sssh.com founder and show creator, Angie Rowntree. "Without a doubt, she will give everyone plenty to talk about, so we hope all porn industry fans and friends will join the discussion!”
With her Master’s Thesis, “Moby’s Dick,” Madita entered the field of Porn Studies in Germany, and is now pursuing her Ph.D. project on “Porn Addiction – America's Moral Panic of the Digital Age.”
She added: “Building bridges between academia and porn has become something like my calling – and Twitter has always been an essential tool for me to do so. I strongly believe we need more complex ways to think and talk about porn to fight the stigma around it. I hope we can use this #SexTalkTuesday to build some bridges together!“
Oeming’s work has appeared in VICE, Forbes, CBS News, and on various podcasts and he has spoken at international conferences, taught porn classes at various universities, as well as published in the Porn Studies Journal. Additionally, she has close ties with the Berlin porn scene, has collaborated with Paulita Pappel and Jiz Lee, used to work for Ersties Podcast, and was a member of the feature film jury of the 2018 Pornfilmfestival.
“Overall,” Oeming said, “my goal is to fight stigma through a more nuanced public conversation about porn.”
“Which is obviously something desperately needed right now,” Rowntree added.
