SAN FRANCISCO—Pink and White Productions is making a final call for submissions to the 2020 San Francisco PornFilmFestival, set to take place on Aug. 20 and 21. It will be streamed live from San Francisco on PinkLabel.TV.
The submissions deadline is Wednesday, May 20.
The online event, presented by festival organizer Pink and White Productions, aims to gather filmmakers and porn aficionados from around the world to celebrate rare and unique adult movies that champion sexual diversity and artistic ingenuity. The event will also feature international guest curators and directors along with other interactive elements.
The virtual festival coincides with the 50th anniversary of the first public screening of hardcore sex to happen in the United States in 1970 with the International Erotic Film Festival at the Presidio Theatre.
Organizers said the topics of sexual rights and free speech are as relevant now as they were before the advent of the internet and that the festival aims to raise awareness of those issues while honoring the city’s sexual cinematic legacy—whether taking place at a local theater or broadcast to a global online audience.
