BOSTON—Richard Kimberly Heck, professor of philosophy at Brown University, will discuss the media's influence on heterosexuality when he serves as the special guest moderator on today's installment of the Twitter-based chat show #SexTalkTuesday at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT.
Heck has worked in a wide range of areas of philosophy, but in the last several years has focused on issues concerning sexuality, publishing two papers on pornography. He is also currently working on a book on sexual ethics with former student Rachel Leadon.
“We frequently hear the media railing against porn and how damaging it is, so it’s refreshing to take up this topic through a scholarly lens and take a deep dive into this complex and multi-faceted topic," said Angie Rowntree, founder of Sssh.com and producer of #SexTalkTuesday.
