SOUTHGATE, MI—Beautiful ladies raising money for the care of beautiful but hopefully-not-abandoned pets—what could be better? So get ready, because pet-loving group Pretties for Pitties will present a burlesque on-the-road show by Glass City Glitterbomb in Toledo, OH, to benefit local pit bulls and other area pets on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at ICE Restaurant and Bar, 405 Madison Avenue. Pretties for Pitties is a Detroit, MI, based 501c3 non-profit, volunteer-run organization that serves pets and their families in Southeastern Michigan and Northern Ohio. Its fundamental goal is to reduce the number of pets in general, and pitbull-type dogs in particular, that are surrendered to over-crowded area shelters. They strive to meet this goal through advocacy, owner and public education, training, a community pet food bank, spay/neuter assistance, vaccinations, supplies, and microchipping. Through community outreach, animal welfare, and owner retention programs, Pretties for Pitties helps loving pet owners overcome roadblocks to pet ownership by providing the resources necessary for them to keep their pets.
