SAN FRANCISCO—Pink and White Productions has officially released of Chemistry Eases the Pain, the newest work by writer and director Shine Louise Houston, which debuted last month via an online screening on PinkLabel.tv. The movie is now available to members of the site or as a streaming rental.
The movie's livestreamed premiere took place over Pride weekend and was accompanied by a Q&A conversation with Houston and stars Lotus Lain and Logan Pierce. It was moderated by Mireille Miller-Young, author of “A Taste for Brown Sugar: Black Women in Pornography,” and Associate Professor of Feminist Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara.

The movie delves into bisexual representation from the perspective of a staunchly lesbian young woman of color.
“The beauty of the queer experience is that we have an opportunity and space to define ourselves—but that doesn’t mean it’s easy," Houston said. “Chemistry is a humorous and heartfelt look at the struggle of change.”
The production was made possible due to the support of more than 300 backers raising over $25,000 on crowdfunding platform IndieGoGo. The cast includes Mona Wales, Nina Hartley, Emperatrix, Nicki Honey, Valentine, Jack Strano and others.
"Shine Louise Houston’s film focuses on the sexual boundaries we set for ourselves, and how liberating it can be when we dare to explore beyond them," wrote reviewer R.T. Collins, who called the movie "a Love Letter to Fluidity and Consent."
