Peepshow Podcast Releases 4 Episodes Interviewing AEE Speakers

CYBERSPACE—The Peepshow Podcast, a creation of Pittsburgh-based entertainers/academics Jesse and PJ Sage, has announced that it will be releasing four episodes with special coverage of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. The episodes will be a mixture of short interviews recorded from the floor and long-form interviews with performers and speakers attending the event.

“As someone who also does internet based sex work, it was really exciting to see so many of my colleagues in one place, talking about issues that are important to us," said Jesse Sage. "The camaraderie and community building of events like this are particularly important since we mostly work alone.”

According to the company, the episode schedule is as follows:

  • Episode 1: Hopes for AVN with Christy Ocean, Scarlett Raven, Little Puck, Miss Lollipop, and Scarlett Fox, and two long form interviews with Lynn Comella and Dominic Rystan. Lynn will talk about her new book Vibrator Nation, which analyzes the history of feminist-owned sex toy shops starting in the '70s. Dominic talks about the struggle of having a pornography clip store as a non-binary performer and producer.
  • Episode 2: Interviews with Violet Doll and Westley Woods from iWantEmpire. We talk to Violet about work over the last 10 years in the industry, and with Westley about being the Ambassador for iWantEmpire’s gay division. We also feature a long interview with Courtney Trouble on the connection between Riot Grrrl, feminism, and queer porn.
  • Episode 3: Another round of short interviews from the expo floor with Sam Phillips from Penthouse Pets, Beth from Bad Dragon, Ella Darling, Ramona Flour, and others. We also did longer form interviews with Goddess Kyaa and Chelsea Poe. Goddess Kyaa talks about what financial domination means to her, and Chelsea talks about trans activism within the adult industry.
  • Episode 4: In the last episode, we wrap up the events of the convention. We also feature interviews with Paul Maginn, who talks about the research he has done on the geography of porn consumption, and to Chellie DD, who talks about her personal relationship with AVN and how it has impacted her career and her life.

“In addition to the excitement on the expo floor, the Adult Entertainment Expo had an engaging slate of speakers," noted PJ Sage. "We were fortunate to have Lynn Comella, Courtney Trouble, and Paul Maginn join us as guests on the podcast to continue these conversations about the industry.”

“Part of the mission of our podcast is to destigmatize the industry," added Jesse. "We hope that bringing you so many rich interviews with dynamic and interesting people helps to humanize sex workers.”
