LOS ANGELES—OnlyFans model Cinthya LaRose has launched an abortion rights fundraiser by offering a free one-month subscription to her OnlyFans page to those who make a donation to support NARAL Pro-Choice America.
The non-profit organization is dedicated to reproductive freedom for women and is the focus of LaRose’s group fundraiser effort on Instagram.
“I want to publicly offer my support to NARAL Pro-Choice America and encourage everyone to please donate whatever you can in order to continue safeguarding our sexual and reproductive health options,” LaRose said. “My fundraising goal is $1,000 over the next 30 days, and I need everyone’s help in getting there!”
The fundraiser comes after a leak to the media of a draft opinion by the U.S. Supreme Court that showed that the body intended to strike down the 49-year-old landmark ruling on Roe v Wade, which protects a pregnant woman's right to choose to have an abortion without government interference or restrictions. The opinion noted that the legality of abortion would be transferred to states’ jurisdictions, many of which appeared poised to rule in favor of criminalizing the procedure and perhaps leading to unsafe, risky and dangerous methods of abortion.
A final ruling by the court on the issue is expected this summer.
“Reproductive rights belong to EVERY BODY—access to affordable contraception, safe and legal abortion options and counseling for those who need it is of paramount importance, and we need to make our voices heard and remove any barriers that keep us from our ability to CHOOSE what is best for us,” LaRose said.
