New 'Shameless Sex' Podcast Talks About STIs

LOS ANGELES—This week on April Lampert and Amy Baldwin's new episode of Shameless Sex, the real-talk sexuality podcast, the hosts explore the uncomfortable topic of sexually-transmitted infections in "The STD (AKA STI) Episode" at ShamelessSex.com/podcast.

“It’s amazing, this particular episode—we have received more emails of praise and gratitude from this than any of our other shows,” said Lampert. “It’s a topic most of the public don’t like to speak on, and we wanted to address this and let people know that there is no shame in contracting an STI; it is more normal than anyone can imagine.”

Lampert and Baldwin enlisted a special guest, local Nurse Practitioner Remy Paille, to answer sensitive subjects about sexual health: STIs, birth control, hormonal changes and nutrients/nutritional supplements for optimum daily wellness.

The show got personal when Lampert told listeners of a life-defining event she'd had when she was 17, and fans voiced their support, sending many emails to the hosts. “One listener wrote, ‘My eyes teared up listening to April tell her story… THANK YOU for sharing your experience publicly, and thank you April and Amy for this podcast.’"

“STIs are consistently on the rise and it is still a topic engrossed in shame and guilt, and remains scary for people to approach,” noted Lampert. “There seems to be a lack of understanding and openness in sharing. People are obviously hungry for a way to normalize their experience so they don't feel alone and broken. This podcast opened some serious floodgates.”

Shameless Sex continues to connect with its ever-growing loyal fan base that listens to the pair’s straight talk about sexuality in all its forms—intimacy, better orgasms, sex toys, BDSM, fetishes and more.

Each week, the Shameless Sex podcast draws in more than 500,000 downloads via Apple Podcasts and ShamelessSex.com/podcast, as well as over 500K listens on Spotify, Google Play, Stitcher, YouTube and other apps in more than 75 countries.
