LOS ANGELES—A new business resource for adult talent interested in self representation made its debut Friday with the launch of membership website FreeAgentModels.com.
Billing itself as "a new performer paradigm" that offers "a safe, completely transparent environment where companies come directly to the models," Free Agent Models aims to give directors, producers, talent coordinators and production managers in adult entertainment a comprehensive, continuously updated database of all self-booking talent.
According to a company announcement, "the FAM site relieves performers of the burden of constant self-promotion (social media posting, email blasts to known contacts) ... members simply sign up, upload their pictures, stats, and preferred contact information, and FAM does the promotional heavy lifting to industry stakeholders."
The site provides a 30-day free trial, after which a flat $200 monthly fee is charged, for which FAM promises to continuously promote members through email blasts, social media and direct contact with every reputable production company, production manager, director and talent coordinator in the industry. Potential bookers will then contact talent directly via his or her preferred method, from which point the performer will negotiate and coordinate the booking.
“We saw how frustrated a lot of performers had become with the traditional adult agency archetype,” Free Agent Models CEO Eric Draven said. “That’s why so many have decided to start self-booking and taking control of their careers, which is an excellent approach. We are simply here to facilitate the self-booking process.”
Added Jasmine B., an industry talent coordinator with nine years of experience who now handles member support at FAM, “A lot of the feedback I’ve received over the years is that [talent] feel pressured to lose weight, or gain weight, or change their looks, or agree to certain bookings or questionable go-sees. That is absolutely unacceptable."
She continued, "Free Agent Models does not monitor, take part in, or profit from any transactions—no percentages from performers, no commissions from producers, no intrusion in talent negotiations, and of course no pressure whatsoever. And the 30-day free trial means literally 'nothing to lose.' If it doesn’t work for you, simply cancel before the trial period ends and you won’t be charged anything."
