NEW YORK—Eva Oh, aka Mistress Eva, guests on the newest episode of the "Red Cheeks" podcast, discussing "BDSM, Domination and Consent."
Oh touches on topics with host Izabela including how she sets the tone and establishes boundaries with clients (“I kind of see it as a training period ... there’s a conversation that’s always happening”), her typical workday and down time (“I try to do things that keep me stimulated and engaged ... I get to dream up things like the '#teakink' web series or 'Safeword' podcast or consult for sex work organizations”).
She also covers the difference between physical and psychological punishment, crossing boundaries in corporal punishment, how she recruits slaves, financial domination and how she practices self-care for her mental health in such an emotionally demanding profession.
“[Living in] Bali was my ‘off’ switch, but now because I’ve been traveling, I need to make sure I keep doing what I enjoy and get what I need and keep reminding me what those things are," Oh said. "I have to be disciplined in terms of not letting people get out of the sphere of what I need them to be.
“I have a huge spectrum of personalities that I have that are close to me, and I can work with them and they give me a lot of different material to work with ... it keeps me entertained," she added. "I generally like to ask and get a good understanding of who [my clients] are so I can start to build my library of material of how I’m going to torture them!”
