LOS ANGELES—Apparently, Mick Blue's having won AVN's Male Performer of the Year for a couple of years in a row isn't enough fame for the veteran adult actor. Now, he's hoping to make a name for himself on the racing circuit as well—and it's something he's dreamed about since he was a young boy growing up in Austria.
“Ever since I was little I have dreamed of racing cars,” Mick said. “It’s a dream that has been in waiting for many years while I’ve been working in the adult industry, but I’ve never forgotten about it and feel like it’s time to put a plan in action. I know I have some very generous friends and fans and I really hope they will help me make this dream come true.”
Mick has completed two levels of training at Skip Barber Racing School and had been invited to compete in the Racing Academy Shootout last month at Atlanta Motorsports Park, where he competed against 30 new drivers from around the world and placed in the top 10 after three days of racing—and now he's been invited to race in the 2017 Skip Barber Championship Series with the opportunity to win a $100,000 scholarship.
“I want to show everyone that even at 40 years old it is possible to achieve your goals,” he said. “We need to continue dreaming big and great things can happen, and for this dream to come true for me would be one of the greatest achievements in my life. It’s been amazing so far.”
Mick has established a GoFundMe fundraiser to help raise the $35,970 he needs for use of the Skip Barber race car for the six weekends that make up 18 races for the Championship Series.
