LOS ANGELES—Melissa Stratton has announced a move to handle all bookings for business opportunities in-house.
Self-booking shoots also allow Stratton the ability to control every aspect of her work, including working with industry veterans and creators. Stratton said, "This gives me greater control of my schedule and increased ability to work with renowned creators outside of studio work."
This year, Stratton has released collaborations including Tru Kait, Alex Jones, Alexis Fawx, Alex Mack, Dan Dangler, Hollywood Cash, and Lena the Plug among many others.
She added, "Self-booking allows me the autonomy to choose shoots that resonate with my brand ethos and work with studios when and how I want. With this new business model, I am directly approachable by studios and producers, some of whom prefer self-booking models, thus opening up a realm of untapped opportunities."
Although Stratton has shifted to a self-booking model, she remains open to potential agency partnerships down the line. Stratton continued, "While self-booking offers undeniable perks, I'm not closing the door on representation in the future. For now, I'm enjoying the freedom that comes with steering my own course."
Stratton notes that self-booking means that she is available for professional engagements with studios and directors, and not for private bookings from the general public.
