HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Award-winning Director Jim Powers made an appearance on the fifth season of the "Your Worst Friend Podcast."
This week, the legendary Powers joined hosts Shane and Matt for a trip down memory lane. The interview runs over 90 minutes and the three chat about how Powers got his "accidental" start as an adult, which included shooting porn on the beach in Malibu, getting arrested for pandering and conspiracy, and being stuck with legal bills and continuing to film to pay it off. The interview then skips to the early 2000s when Powers recounts the changeover from VHS to DVDs since porn was expensive to produce using glass masters.
Powers also tells the tale of bringing bukkake to the US and finding guys in LA Weekly for the scenes, laundromats, and even having a bukkake hotline. The hosts ask Powers their burning question of how they would pick the girls for the covers. They go even deeper with Powers when he talks about shooting for the Spice Channel, the Tanner Mayes flip-out he filmed, and other crazy tales from the set, filming lots of Amish porn, his band Killroy, and the reality of fluffers, and much more.
"I had a great time with Shane and Matt, and it was cool they were so familiar with my career and past and current projects. They seemed highly entertained by my stories, and I even made them laugh a few times. It's definitely worth checking out," said Powers.
