HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Lauren Phillips has received mainstream entertainment coverage due to appearing in a video with Dr. Joe Gow, who served as the 10th chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and his wife, Carmen Wilson, who are known as the Sexy Happy Couple. Phillips appeared in their adult content as well as their show, "Sexy Healthy Cooking," on YouTube. Gow made headlines recently due to his firing from the University of Wisconsin due to his adult entertainment work.

“I feel Joe’s freedom of speech is being taken away with the university firing him. Yes, he’s chancellor, but he was engaging in something legal (making porn) that a huge part of the population indulges in. And sex work is real work! The whole thing isn’t fair, and I’m sorry this is happening to Joe,” said Phillips.
