LA Leather Coalition Names Mistress Cyan Mentor of the Year

LOS ANGELES—At this year's Leather Pride Celebration, by the Los Angeles Leather Coalition, popular domme Mistress Cyan was named both Mentor of the Year and Community Choice Woman of the Year at the Southland Honors event.

Honoring individuals and groups for their community service, the Southland Honors celebration was held at ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives Foundation in the USC library. In addition, Randy Carmenaty won the George Wong Person of the Year Award, Scott McTeir won the Jeff Burnam Community Service Award, and Charlie Matula took home the Business Person of the Year Award, just to name a few.

The celebration was just a small part of Los Angeles Leather Pride, which kicked off last week. Thursday night is the Meet and Greet for Mr. & Ms. LA Leather and LA Boot Black at Bullet Bar. This Friday will be the public Fireside Chat interview with Mistress Cyan; Saturday will be the official LA Leather Contests at Pico Union Project; and Sunday the ceremonies close with an Open House party at Tom of Finland Foundation and the 7th Annual Off Sunset street party at Santa Monica Blvd and Hoover.

Mistress Cyan is primarily known as the President and CEO of Sanctuary LAX, and President of DomCon. As board member of LA Gay Pride, she produces the Erotic City section and she’s known as producer of The Lair at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. However, Cyan is also very active in the community and frequently produces fundraisers. Her food drives during the winter gather thousands of dollars' worth of food for the homeless. Cyan’s dungeon, Sanctuary LAX, has hosted many leather community events and fundraisers.
