LOS ANGELES—Kate Kennedy and Jayden Cole are two of the adult film stars and cam models who discuss the ways in which online sex workers are innovating and adapting in the crowded, post-COVID-19 online pornosphere in a new HustlerMagazine.com feature.
In “Hustling in the Age of COVID-19”, writer Maxwell Van Zandt notes that “like most businesses, the adult industry is taking a big financial hit during the coronavirus pandemic. But porn performers are finding a silver lining in the camming world, coming up with unusual approaches to content and proving that when the going gets tough, the tough get creative.”
Adult star/porn pundit Kennedy, who this week celebrated her birthday in lockdown, has seen both her shoots and feature dance bookings placed on hold. Noting that hardcore stuff isn’t always the best marketing approach, diversification has become Kennedy’s key to weathering the coronavirus lockdown.
“It’s all about dogs and friends,” she says of her social media approach. “I try to do it so I reveal things about myself. I try to present things about myself like what I’d like to know about the girls performing online.”
And while her X-rated videos and snaps constitute the bread and butter of her successful OnlyFans account, she added that her down-to-earth, seriocomic style of interaction “helps me promote my brand. It enhances it.”
Adult performer and Penthouse Pet Jayden Cole noted that social distancing requirements have led to the cancellation of her gigs on the feature dance circuit—which has resulted in a big chunk of her income being decimated.
“I’m usually booked for two weekend gigs a month,” she noted. “Those are gone for the time being.”
Recognizing that she’s playing on what Van Zandt calls “an unusually crowded field in this stay-at-home age,” Cole revealed that she has upped her game at jaydenfans.com.
To set herself apart, Cole revealed, “I present the shows almost like a podcast. And I cam from the bathtub. More money’s being made online these days than at the strip clubs—even before the coronavirus.”
