LOS ANGELES—Joy Media Group announced Thursday that it has signed adult banner Samurai to an exclusive deal for DVD and broadcast distrubition and licensing.
The first two titles under the deal shipped Wednesday and are set to street August 10, with an additional two titles slated to ship August 25.
"We're very excited about this opportunity and felt Joy Media Group was a perfect fit," co-owner and director Kill Tone said, noting that the brand's content, much of which features trans talent, "is all direct from Japan."
"I have much experience in the past with this type of content. It has always been an incredible seller for all my retailers," Joy Media Group vice president of sales Dave Peskin said. "We couldn't be happier with the numbers going out the door on these first two releases and are most appreciative for all our customers' support."
Samurai plans to release two to four titles per month through Joy Media to start.
