Jessica Drake Talks Slut Shaming & More at 2016 CatalystCon West

LOS ANGELES — Sex educator and Wicked Pictures contract performer Jessica Drake will discuss slut shaming and sexual wellness at two panel discussions taking place at CatalystCon West. The three-day event will be held September 16-18.

Known for the instructional series, Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex, will participate in “Slut-Shaming Begins at Home: Internalized Erotophobia,” at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 18. The panel will examine some of the ways many have witnessed, experienced and dealt with slut-shaming in our lives from childhood to present.

“I’m very proud to be a part of an important discussion about the devastating effects of slut-shaming on our nation,” Drake said. “I firmly believe that the more we discuss this topic and raise awareness, the more we are able to further open the lines of communication and educate everyone about its harmful impact on society.”

On Sunday at 11:30am, almost immediately following the slut shaming panel, Drake will participate in another discussion, “Partners in Pleasure: Building Bridges Between Sex Positive Retailers & Educators.” This panel will explore ways sex educators and retailers, writers and clinicians, all within the sex positive community, can work together to improve the sexual health and wellness of the population. Wicked Pictures contract star Asa Akira is among the panelists.

In addition to the progressive panels, Drake will be an active participant in CatCon’s Pleasure Products Symposium from 9:30am to 4pm on Thursday, September 15 as well as the Sex Worker Summit, which she organized and will host from 10am to 4pm on Friday, September 16.
