WASHINGTON, D.C.—Wicked Pictures contract performer Jessica Drake will participate in the workshop More Than Sexy: Conundrums Faced by Feminists in Porn, 9-10:30 a.m. ET Aug. 3, at the Woodhull Freedom Foundation in Washington, D.C.
The event, which also features adult stars Jupiter Slut and Jet Setting Jasmine, is a part of Woodhull’s Sexual Freedom Summit taking place this week.
“I am especially looking forward to my first Woodhull experience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to speak on a panel about being a feminist in porn. On a very personal level, this topic has resonated differently with me throughout the years as I have navigated various stages of my career,” Drake said. “My feelings and opinions about this topic are quite passionate and I expect an intense discussion that will hopefully educate and enlighten not just the folks in the audience, but also everyone who follows along as we live stream it. My sincere thanks to Jasmine and Jupiter for involving me, and Woodhull for inviting me."

As part of the event, Drake and her fellow participants will discuss how adult stars deal with sexism when it’s their job to be sexy, as well as how feminists in porn deal with issues around propagating harmful stereotypes, unhealthy power dynamics and body image. The discussion will also include what women in porn believe are the most effective tools for empowering themselves and others. The panelists will also share personal narratives about their experiences with sexism and sexual liberation.
The Woodhull Freedom Foundation, which is known for its support of sexual freedom and the right to engage in consensual sexual activity, filed a lawsuit in June challenging the constitutionality of the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017 also called FOSTA. The organization alleges the law allows censorship of Internet speech by creating criminal and civil liability to website operators who host third-party content that “promotes or facilitates prostitution of another person” while removing free speech protections for website users.
