ImLive Begins 'Scrotal Recall' Fundraiser to Aid Endangered Frog

LONDON, U.K.—In commemoration of National Wildlife Day, webcam network ImLive.com has announced the launch of its "Scrotal Recall" campaign. This latest philanthropic endeavor is intended to raise funds and awareness to preserve the endangered Titicaca Giant Frog, also known as the Scrotum Frog because of its excessive amount of loose skin.

This campaign originated in a plea from an ImLive member who requested that ImLive help animals in need, as part of the ImLive “18th Birthday Wish-a-Thon," through which the company will grant 18 wishes submitted by the public to celebrate ImLive's 18 years in business. The member sent the following wish to ImLive: "I'm an animal lover and I'd love for ImLive to do something for National Wildlife Day. Shine a light on an endangered species!"

As part of the campaign, ImLive will launch a wild-animal-style party on its site during National Wildlife Day on Friday, September 4, continuing the celebration through the weekend until Sunday, September 6. ImLive will donate 5% of all proceeds generated from the party to the Denver Zoo.

The zoo has championed rescuing the Telmatobius culeus, or Titicaca water frog, species since its population decline made headlines in 2016, when more than 10,000 of the frogs died suddenly. The Denver Zoo, which acquired a small population of the frogs that year, is the only North American institution to have them. In 2017, the frogs hatched roughly 200 tadpoles at the zoo, the first time Titicaca frogs have ever hatched in North America.

“Here at ImLive, we care deeply about the environment and are toad-ally excited about helping the preservation of wildlife,” quipped Adrian Stoneman, VP of ImLive. “To fulfill one ImLive user's wish in the most unfrogettable way possible, we’re asking our whole community to turn their attention to, and help save, a different type of scrotum, a majestic species that once swelled in numbers within Lake Titicaca before commercial industries initiated their demise.”

Additionally, in light of rescuer Carole Baskin being in the news recently, ImLive has extended an offer to Ms. Baskin to participate as the campaign's brand ambassador, considering all of her work preserving other endangered species.

Baskin made nationwide (if not worldwide) headlines because of her public feud with the late private zoo operator Joe Exotic, which feud figured heavily in the Netflix documentary series Tiger King. Baskin is CEO of Big Cat Rescue, a Tampa, Florida-based animal rescue.

Stoneman sent a (somewhat punny) letter to Baskin to ask her to take part in ImLive's frog rescue attempt, which reads as follows:

"Dear Mrs. Carole Baskin (and all your cool cats and kittens),

"I wanted to reach out and congratulate you on being selected for the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars (I’m looking forward to your foxtrot to 'Eye of the Tiger').

"I work for ImLive, an adult webcam company, and I wanted to see if you’d be interested in teaming together with us to raise funds and awareness to preserve the endangered Titicaca Giant Frog, also known as the 'Scrotum Frog.' We are currently running a campaign to aid the endangered species in commemoration of National Wildlife Day, which is on September 4th. We will be donating 5% of proceeds from events hosted on our site to the Denver Zoo in Denver, Colorado which has championed rescuing this particular frog species since its population decline made headlines in 2016, when more than 10,000 of the frogs died suddenly.

"We’d love for you to be the brand ambassador for the campaign. I know you’ve spent a large majority of your life working to preserve big cats and felt Tiger King failed to create awareness for them. This can be a unique opportunity to dive headfirst into your next passion project and legitimately help save some scrotums around the world.

"Our campaign originated from a request from an ImLive member who requested that we help animals in need, as part of our '18th Birthday Wish-a-Thon,' during which we are granting 18 wishes that we have sourced from our users to celebrate 18 years in business.

"By way of background, ImLive is a leading adult webcam site that offers the largest variety of adult webcam experiences. ImLive.com serves as an online community to thousands of affiliates. We have over 80,000 hosts and approximately 62 million members who visit our platform from all around the globe. Membership is free to all over the age of 18 years.

"Take some time to consider our offer. We’d love for you to be the face of this campaign and help save this endangered species!"

As part of its birthday celebration, ImLive received thousands of submissions across the ImLive website and on social media, and the team will be continuously fulfilling all 18 wishes throughout the end of the year.

In July, ImLive made the news when it launched ImLive4TheBlind, services for blind and vision impaired users utilizing sports announcers such as Sean Wheelock and others to commentate the action for the underserved blind community. Earlier in the summer, the company brought on leading adult entertainer Riley Reid to provide tips and demonstrations after the company released survey findings in May that revealed a decline in sexual activity among couples that quarantined together. In April, the company launched an anti-dating campaign in collaboration with celebrities to condemn coronavirus-spreading courtship. As part of that campaign, the company offered to give away up to $50M in credits for people to use on its site.
