LONDON—As AI sex dolls continue their rise in mainstream pop culture, British performer Harriet Sugarcookie has made it her mission to find out more about people's fascination with them in her latest HarrietSugarcookie.com article, “These Are the Most Popular Celebrity Sex Robots.”
Sugarcookie polled 500 U.S. and U.K.-based men who frequent the popular website, asking them which celebrity they'd most want to purchase as their own personal sex robot. Scarlett Johansson, who portrayed a sexy cyberborg soldier earlier this year in Ghost in the Shell, is No.1 with fans.
“Scarlett Johansson has built a career on her awesome sex appeal so it’s only fitting that men want to build a sex-robot out of it,” writes Sugarcookie, noting that the busty movie star racked up nearly 37 percent of the votes. “What’s amazing is that one man has already had a go at it.”
Rounding out the Sexbot top five are Emma Watson, Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba and porn star Asa Akira; Japanese gravure star Hitomi Tanaka made the cut at No. 6, model/actress Kate Upton came in at No. 7, pop superstar Taylor Swift was No. 8, porn performer Riley Reid at No. 9 and rounding out the Top 10 was Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.
