PHOENIX—Ginger Banks took the opportunity to meet with iconic actor and LGBTQ advocate George Takei during his appearance at a recent comic convention in Phoenix.
Banks sought him out to talk about his helping her go viral last year. Banks Tweeted about how she combats unwanted dick pics, Takei who picked it up and wrote about it in an article on his website Guacamoley.com .
He posted “Adult Film Star's Response to Getting Unsolicited Dick Pics Is Pure Genius” on his Facebook page with his catch phrase, “Oh myyyy … Well played.”
“It was wonderful to finally meet Mr. Takei at Phoenix Comic Con, we had a great conversation about our responsibilities as public figures and how it’s important to speak out for what is right,” Ginger said. “It’s not always an easy thing to do and sometimes there’s fall out but speaking with Mr. Takei assured me that it’s up to us to use our celebrity in this manner, and I just loved him for it.
“I had no idea when I Tweeted that I would get this overwhelming reaction,” she continued. “It’s crazy and wonderful, getting all this love from so many people, and to have George Takei post it on Facebook? Oh myyyyy!”
