CYBERSPACE—Performer-director Stormy Daniels recently spoke with adult fan site Fleshbot about her comeback feature, Hysteria.
“It was my pleasure to discuss Hysteria with Fleshbot," Daniels said. "I’m so proud of this movie. It was a joy to work with Aiden Ashley again, she was brilliant and 100 percent authentic. And Anna Claire Clouds is, seriously, my favorite new actress. My crew also had some new members—including the amazing James Avalon, with whom I’d never worked despite all my years in the business. It was a wonderful experience.”
Hysteria is the first movie that Daniels wrote and directed under her new contract with Wicked/Gamma, and is now available on DVD and on Wicked.com.
The movie revolves on the story of Anna (Aiden Ashley), an accomplished author, and her partner Christine (Anna Claire Clouds), an artist. On the surface, this loving couple's marriage appears to be harmonious and beautiful. But beneath this veneer of domestic bliss lurks an undercurrent of mistrust that threatens to consume their relationship. For Anna, the pressure to deliver a new book to her publisher is compounded by the roadblocks she's encountering on her writing journey. Is her writer's block due to external factors like her disagreements with her supportive yet demanding literary agent Vicki (Casey Calvert)? Or is her creative lull a manifestation of internal conflicts, self-doubt and creative exhaustion? Or, is the root cause something more ... otherworldly? Do the strange sounds she hears late at night have a rational explanation or are they cryptic messages from the other side?
The movie also stars Wicked contract performer/director Seth Gamble, Ella Reese, Charly Summer, Chris Cock and Ryan Driller.
In the Interview, Daniels shared how she had to have her first comeback feature be about ghosts and the paranormal since she is a medium/paranormal investigator. She loved working with the veteran and new performers that she cast in this and she was impressed with the FX makeup to create the look of spirits from the beyond, she said.
