Fetish Con 2019 Releases Bond Con Schedule of Events

ST. PETERSBURG, FL—With less than two weeks to go before the festivities begin, Fetish Con organizers have announced the convention's official schedule of events for Bond Con. Owned by and running concurrently with Fetish Con, the reinvigorated Bond Con has re-emerged after being dormant since 2007, and will be held at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront Hotel August 8–11.

“We are so excited to go back to our roots with Bond Con and bring bondage back to the trade show,” says event promoter Genesis Lynn. “When the ribbon is cut to officially open Bond Con on Friday, August 10, it will introduce a whole new aspect to Fetish Con that many attendees have never seen before. We are looking forward to continuing the Bond Con legacy in today’s fetish scene.”

Kicking off the reinvigorated Bond Con on Friday, August 9, at noon will be an official ribbon-cutting ceremony by organizers Genesis Lynn, Vesta, Mike, and Si as well as Drew, Stacy Burke, Jewell Marceau, Anastasia Pierce, George Perez, and Bernie the Bondage Bunny. The day continues with a full slate of live demos:

* 1 p.m. - Jim Weathers
* 3 p.m. – Andreas of Bound1
* 5 p.m. – Jim Hunter
* 7 p.m. – Jewell Marceau

Attendees will be invited to participate in Bond Con’s inaugural “Bondage Battle” Saturday, August 10 at 4 p.m.; $500 will be awarded to the team winning “Best Tie” by votes, and all participating team members will receive All Access Passes to Fetish Con 2020. Legacy models who attended the original Bond Con indicated that they are thrilled with its return.

“I was honored to be one of the first Guests of Honor at the inaugural Bond Con in New York,” said Stacy Burke. “It was right after 9/11, and a lot of first responders and military were staying at the same location. The whole event was full of warmth, community, support, and meeting new and old friends. It was a really memorable event. Who knew it would continue all these years later, only to grow and bring in others, becoming stronger, full of love, fun, sharing, caring, etc.. To me, I call it my family reunion. Thank you to all who are a part of Bond Con/Fetish Con. I love you all and always can’t wait to see you each year!”

Fellow legacy model Sandra Silvers echoed Burke’s sentiment: “I am so happy to be featured in the ‘Bond Con – Back to Bondage’ wing of Fetish Con this year! I’ve been in this business for 20 years, and attended and loved every Fetish Con. And before that, all the classic Bond Cons. Having stayed true this whole time to my first love—being bound and gagged —I have a soft spot in my soul for, and marvelous memories of, Bond Con, an event where I could swim in a sea of event-goers tied together by a love of bondage. Trading tips and techniques! The tight ties! The damsels-in-distress! And most importantly, making friends with whom I share a deep bond. I look forward to doing it all again! Welcome back, Bond Con!”

Bond Con, the “show within a show” dedicated to bondage enthusiasts attending Fetish Con, will be held in the host hotel’s newly-constructed 2100 sq. ft. of additional trade show space. In addition to vendors, exhibitors, and sponsors in the newly dedicated space, Bond Con 2019 will present bondage- and shibari-focused workshops within the Fetish Con master workshop schedule; to view, click here.

In addition to the excitement surrounding the return of Bond Con, Fetish Con is thrilled to announce the return of Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame recipient and internationally-renowned comic book creator George Pérez to its show. In addition to co-creating the popular The New Teen Titans, Pérez also had historic and defining runs on Justice League of America, The Avengers including “The Infinity Gauntlet,” and most notably, Wonder Woman. Pérez’s re-imagining of the amazing Amazon brought the character back to prominence after years of stagnation; it is his specific interpretation which has been cited as a major influence for the blockbuster film’s success. While Pérez has been a fetish fan for as long as he could remember, with a particular penchant for catfighting and bondage that sometimes filtered into his comic book art; attendees will be able to meet Pérez over the weekend at the 12thAnnual Superheroine Showdown on Saturday, August 10, from 1–3 p.m. For more information, click here.
