ASHEVILLE, N.C.—Internationally known art portrait photographer Douglas P. Cooper (Douglas P. Cooper Images) is relocating to Asheville, N.C., in March. He will be available in Asheville for photo sessions aside from his usual tour schedule. Artwork will also be displayed and available for purchase in Asheville.
Douglas has collaborated with people and organizations from all over the world. He’s been published multiple times, and has built his style and reputation around taboo art portraits. Genres he’s most associated with include Fetish/Kink, Horror/Goth, Tattoo, and Vintage Art Portraits.
Douglas has photographed some of the most recognized performers, models, dominatrixes, and adult film stars from around the world. He’s also been published for his Cannabis photography as well.
Although known primarily for his edgy and dark portrait photography, Douglas has also worked with top professional athletes and musicians from around the world too. Names include: Ringo Starr, Stevie Wonder, Yoko Ono, Green Day, Alice Cooper, Dave Grohl, Gary Clark Jr. and Joan Jett among many others.
“This was my first time working with Douglas, his obscure work led me to find the perfect location for our shoot in L.A. My vibrant hair and latex complemented his dark, mysterious style perfectly,” said Dani Divine, international model/performance artist who was photographed for SIQUE Magazine’s Monochrome Issue 2019.
Douglas looks forward to making Asheville his new home and place of business. He is eager to connect and engage with the local community.
