LOS ANGELES—Adult performer Ebony Mystique’s X account has been stolen by an online hacker who calls himself "Jake Gelato," demanding $5,000 to give it back through a series of direct messages.
Gelato boasted, "Everyday I log into verified accounts and get $5000.00. I’ve been doing it for three years, you can’t scare me, try in vain. Now I’m asking you for the last time and you will get your accounts."
The hacker who took over her X account @ebonymystique1 also threatened to share her driver's license on Instagram and close down her Instagram as well.
Mystique had threatened her years ago, "As performers in the adult industry we are constantly being threatened and blackmailed with our social media pages because hackers think we are rich and desperate. I want the public to know what’s going on and hopefully, action will be taken. I have contacted Twitter several times about this and all I am getting is bots replying. I just want them to see my ID and give my page back, and I can’t help but feel they don’t care. I just want other performers to know this is out there and not to negotiate with online terrorists such as him."
