HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—September Reign and the movie Love, Sex & Music are being honored in Italy with four award nominations by the Doppio Senso Night Award Show taking place March 12 in Milan, Italy.
Reign offered, "This movie has taken me on a wonderful journey that I could have only imagined. I’m so thankful to Will Ryder and Adam & Eve for believing in me and putting me in the spotlight with a story filled with emotion and triumph and now Italy knows about us? This is crazy."
The Italian awards show is a venture by the long-running production team that produces Doppio Senso Night, a live weekly television show on the Italian TV channel Prima Free. In the twelve years of production, the show has hosted hundreds of celebrities, porn stars, and directors in a conversational format.
The Love, Sex & Music nominations are for Best International Actress, Best International Movie, Best International Screenplay, and Best International Director.
Ryder remarked, "It’s an amazing honor to earn international recognition, so a big thank you to the Doppio Senso organizers. I am very grateful and now the world is finding out September is an actress with emotional depth and character when you surround her with a quality story."
Added Reign, "Pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter in the country music business is a difficult task at best, but try doing it when you’re Black. That’s the premise of Will Ryder’s movie. This was the role and script I had been waiting for my entire career and to see us nominated for movie of the year, Grand Reel at AVN, and now recognition in Europe is too good to be true. I’m about to cry because this entire story especially as a Black woman is so emotional."
When aspiring singer Dixie (Reign) moves to Nashville, she discovers that Music Row is not the welcoming home she expected, but rather a den of lies, deceit, court cases, and veiled corporate racism. Finding herself at the center of a Nashville scandal after writing the hottest country song of the year, Dixie finds herself at odds with famous singing superstar Missy Free (Vanna Bardot) who wants to record it. The music label executives want to steal it and Dixie is driven to the breaking point before her dying sister (Misty Stone) attempts to save the day.
In the cast, Reign is joined by Vanna Bardot, Whitney Wright, Nina Elle, Misty Stone, Madison Summers, Samantha Lexi, Zerella Skies, Cecilia Taylor, and April Love with male performers Jay Romero, Dorian Del Isla, Joshua Lewis, Rusty Nails, James Bartholet, and Frank Bukkwyd.
