Director Roy Karch Has a Room for Rent in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—If you're looking to live in the heart of Hollywood, retired adult movie director Roy Karch has a bedroom to rent in his penthouse apartment located steps from Sunset Boulevard and two blocks from the Highlands complex on Hollywood Boulevard.

The apartment is on a quiet, tree-lined street a couple hundred yards from where Jimmy Kimmel hosts his TV show. The bedroom is fully furnished and comes with a private bathroom with shower, plus full access to common areas such as kitchen, living room and dining room and is available now. There is DirecTV and an underground parking space available at no extra charge.

"I've had a roommate the past few years and this one just moved out of state so I have an opening," Karch remarked.

Karch said he has no preference on who moves in and is completely open to that person being in the adult movie business. 

"I did have one lovely porn starlet that lived here and she came and went as she pleased. Very busy girl—she was a blur," Karch offered. "I was sorry to see her go. She even did her webcam show every day in her private locked bedroom and later moved out to be with her boyfriend," Karch offered."

The rent is listed at $1,350 and Karch is not concerned about a matching security deposit up front.

"If you need a place to live, give me a call it's ready to move in now and is so close to everything Hollywood including the Metro Red Line," Karch added. 

For those who are newer members of the adult community, Roy Karch was the first to shoot movies on videotape back in the earliest days of the porn business and was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame back in 1998.

"I used to perform in loops in New York back in  the 1970s and really got into producing and directing movies here in Los Angeles in the early 1980s but those days are behind me. I live a quiet life and enjoy having someone share the apartment.”
