LOS ANGELES—Aaron Brink, aka veteran adult performer Dick Delaware, will meet Shannon "The Cannon" Ritch in a long-awaited MMA grudge match that will be contested on Facebook Live on Friday, Nov. 13th.
The two will settle their score in a three-round exhibition bout inside the World Fighting Federation cage at the UFC Gym in Glendale, Arizona.
Brink and Ritch were supposed to fight at Viejas Hotel & Casino earlier this year before the pandemic hit. Viejas is a popular San Diego casino; instead the fight was moved to a private property in Valley Center, Calif., before it was cancelled.
“This sudden change of venue lost all my fans from San Diego from the barrio district totaling $10,400 in ticket sales,” Brink said.
Both Brink and Ritch have a claim to the Gladiator Challenge championship belt—both won interim titles. Ritch is also the NAGA champion, while Brink has an identical belt.
“We have three canceled bouts on our professional record with each other,” Brink explained. “And plus the $10,000-plus in monies that need to be paid back to my fans who bought tickets for Viejas to see us fight. Now they get that fight.
“Shannon Ritch and I recently reached out to each other and agreed to do this fight for the fans to reimburse those whose families lost money in the California Cage Wars tragedy. ... We will be adding only those who pledge to our reimbursement funds to watch it.”
Brink and Ritch are asking for a $20 pledge to watch the Facebook Live fight.
The 45-year-old Brink started his pro mixed-martial-arts career in 1998 and made his porn debut in 2003, racking up more than 500 credits. The native of Huntington Beach still performs in at least a couple sex scenes per month for Lethal Hardcore, while also working as a commercial diver for the Port of San Diego and an MMA trainer.
He’ll enter the contest with 29 wins, 26 losses and two no-contests, riding a three-fight winning streak. His most recent win came on June 9, 2019, when he defeated Cody Sons via a first-round TKO at CCW 13.
The 49-year-old Shannon “The Cannon” Ritch is one of the most prolific MMA pugilists of all time. While the MMA site Sherdog lists him with 145 professional fights, other published reports list the journeyman fighter with dozens more. According to Sherdog, Ritch has a 58-87 since 1998 and enters the bout on a two-fight losing streak. However in a 2019 interview on TheFightersVoice, the site listed Ritch with 128 MMA wins alone to go with a record of 25-3 in bareknuckle boxing and 36-7 in Muay Thai and kickboxing.
Regardless, both fighters enter Friday’s confrontation with more than 20 years of experience in the cage for a bout that has been years in the making.
“We were supposed to fight in so many different organizations,” Brink told AVN. “We’re both at the end of our careers. We need to get this done before it’s too late, before we’re too old. We’re getting there."
Brink summarized where their beef started.
"Shannon walked around with my Gladiator Challenge championship belt; he was putting it on my Facebook,” Brink said. “I shouldn’t let it bother me but it does bother me. I just want to get one with him before we retire because he’s not going to be around much longer either.
“I’ve been in touch with Shannon and told him, ‘Let’s get us a fight.’ I consider him a friend but we will put that aside for the fight.”
Brink, who is 6-foot-3, says he’ll be weighing in at 220 pounds; Ritch is also expected to weigh close to 220, according to Brink. He stands 5-9.
Ritch won a jiu-jitsu world title in 2019, Brink said.
“It would be my honor to actually submit the jiu-jitsu world champion," Brink added. "To try to rock him and submit him.”
In adult, Brink is currently performing scenes for Hall of Fame director Stoney Curtis in a porn series where he assumes the role of an MMA coach before the sex starts.
“We are also beginning an I.C.E. Border Patrol series,” Brink revealed.
The Pornographic Puncher said he may look for a ground and pound finish against Rich.
“I may just go for a submission after I rock him but I'm going to get him out of there and show that it is very one-sided—like a Pros vs. Joe's scenario and a weight class difference of like two or three-weight classes, even though we're both weighing in at 220-ish," he said.
