CALABASAS, Calif.—Former journalist, host and copy editor-turned-adult entertainer, Danika Maia, has signed with STARxxx Talent Agency.
“My understanding of art is that it is a visual or sound that makes those looking at or listening to it feel something. Just because ours makes people feel horny doesn’t mean it’s less of an art.” Maia said. “I think it is an industry where there is still so much work to be done in terms of changing the mainstream’s perception of both the workers and the customers.”
The starlet's arrival in the porn comes after she grew tired of the way advertising played a major role in all of the content after working five years in media. Her quest to find a way to be more artistic and in control of her time led her to the adult industry by launching her own OnlyFans channel. Her new career allowed her to pay the bills, write her fiction books and launch her company Money Mama Club - a sex positive community for cis and trans women.
“I would be absolutely honored to shoot print for one of the three iconic magazines, Playboy, Hustler and Penthouse," she said. "As far as scenes, I think that the art of the tease is far more erotic than a sex scene, so I dream of making solo and softcore girl-on-girl tease scenes that are sensual and rich with story.”
By signing with Todd Supro and the STARxxx Talent agency, Maia said she aims to get new opportunities in the adult industry. “I hope that STARxxx will give me that extra boost to really break into the top leagues in both the adult and mainstream worlds.” she said. “When I spoke to Todd and he explained his background to me, I knew instantly that we clicked. I believe in his approach and I hope that we will work together for a long time and go far. We both have experience in different realms outside the adult industry and it was important to me that he understood what I wanted for my career and didn’t push anything that I was uncomfortable with.”
