Countess Diamond Inspires Audience at SxTech EU Conference

LONDONCountess Diamond, a figure within the BDSM community, made a presentation during her keynote speech at the SxTech EU conference, regarding how sex work and technology interact right now, and how she predicts they will interact in the future. The event took place last Oct. 25 at Ahoy! Berlin.

With years of experience trying numerous gadgets, platforms, and technologies available in her work as a professional dominatrix, Diamond was able to share personalized guidance on the future of the new sex tech space.

The keynote speech, titled "Tech Domme Talks; Sex Tech For Sex Workers," delved into how Diamond uses tech in her job, and included:

• The unexpected ways she uses "vanilla" technology as a dominatrix with her clients
• Why some sex workers are not using sex tech
• What sex workers really need from sex tech

Diamond also used her platform to talk about the long-term project she’s working on with the U.K.’s Sex Workers’ Union to have an impartial legal witness on every porn set.

The speech was a combination of both inspiration and information for sex tech giants to consider and provided insights into the latest trends and developments. Diamond’s ability to use real-world examples captured the attention of all attendees and gave each and every person something to take away and consider, for both developers and sex workers.

Countess Diamond said, "Seeing the positive reaction and thought-provoking questions from the audience is incredible. Although I’m very close to this subject, I rarely discuss it in a public forum so I didn’t know what to expect. But the reception has me itching to speak more on sex tech and its potential for sex work. It’s heartwarming to know that people are as passionate about this topic as I am, and I hope that I have inspired some tech giants to consider sex workers a little more when creating new technology."

Stu Nugent, CEO and Founder of the Afterglow Agency and attendee to Diamond's speech said, "Countess’ talk proved to be the keynote for a good reason: she speaks both about sex work and sex tech with the kind of honesty, humanity, and authority that’s rare—or absent completely—in the male-dominated tech space. The audience was a knowledgeable one, but Countess Diamond was able to show them the impact of their technology in ways they might not have considered before. It was very valuable."
