CineKink Festival Open for Entries

NEW YORKCineKink, known to many as the kinky film festival, is seeking works that celebrate and explore a wide diversity of sexuality for its 2022 season.

Dedicated to the recognition and encouragement of sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television, CineKink is looking for offerings drawn from both the independent film world and adult entertainment. The festival said in its announcement that it aims for “selections ranging from documentary to drama, camp comedy to artsy experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit—and everything in between.”

"Basically, as long as it involves consenting adults, just about anything celebrating sex as a right of self expression is fair game," said Lisa Vandever, CineKink co-founder and director. "Far be it from us to define 'kink.' If you think your work might make sense in this context, please send it along—just make sure it has something to do with sex!"

Scheduled for its 19th anniversary in May 2022, CineKink will include a short film competition, audience choice awards and an adult entertainment showcase/contest, with a national screening tour to follow. Organizers plan to offer in-person festivities and screenings, as long as it’s possible to do so safely and affordably, while utilizing virtual presentations to expand their offerings and reach a wider audience.

The deadline for entries is Jan. 17, followed by a "late" deadline on Feb. 7, with submission fees increasing at each tier. An "extended deadline" runs until Feb. 28 for works submitted online only.

As always, entry fees are waived for CineKink-alumni filmmakers, provided they are submitted by the Feb. 28 deadline. Waiver information has been emailed to all alumni.
