LOS ANGELES—The Wicked Comix blockbuster Captain Marvel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody earned a total of five trophies at the 37th annual AVN Awards, allowing Axel Braun—one of the most awarded adult film directors ever—to add to his impressive collection.
Hosted by Nikki Benz and Emily Bloom and featuring musical guests Doja Cat and Superstar DJ Diplo, the star-studded gala saw the AVN Editor's Choice smash hit emerge as a major winner.
“I am absolutely stoked!” Braun said of his blockbuster's awards sweep. “Filmmaking, whether mainstream or adult, is an inherently collaborative process, and there are many talented people who contributed to this movie’s success, but I literally owe most of it to my star Kenzie Taylor. She was fearless, sexy, funny as hell, and she inspired me and everybody else on set with her dedication, her professionalism, her commitment, and her epic awesomeness. She is truly a real-life superhero, and I can’t wait to work with her again!”
A stunning and hilarious reimagining of the Brie Larson release, Braun’s designed masterwork snared five major trophies, including the genre’s highest honor, Best Parody, which happens to be the legendary director’s 10th consecutive one. Other awards bestowed upon the title throughout the evening included Best Soundtrack, Best Special Effects, Best Makeup, and Best Transgender One-on-One Sex Scene (Aubrey Kate and Kenzie Taylor).
