Sabrina Deep, who began appearing in hardcore scenes in 2007 (and has definitely not retired, though it's been a couple of years since she appeared in several Girlfriends Films productions), has authored the following plea to those who view adult material on the internet without paying for it:
How to start this? Not everybody claims to be an adult entertainment consumer. Maybe it's true, after all, that not everybody watches porn. If that's your case, forgive the intrusion; this message is not for you. To anybody else, though, I feel the urge to share a couple of considerations with you.
Free porn is amazing. I mean, everything which is available for free (except for Marmite) is amazing, right? You already know that we, the performers, are not the biggest fans of our work being publicly available for free. The reason is simple: we work to make a product, we work to stay fit to be able to work to make a product, so we would expect you to pay for our efforts and final product. You don't care, you say? Well, you should. What if I told you that starting tomorrow we will go on strike and stop shooting content for good? You won't have anything anymore to pirate or to watch for free. Even those sources of to-date free content will die and go out of business pretty quickly.
Not gonna happen, you say? It is already happening. Due to the coronavirus, we are all shutting productions, meaning not shooting any new content. We all have a stash of previously unreleased content, but it's not gonna last long. In fact, we are talking weeks, if we kept the same release rate as pre-corona. Most countries are already under quarantine. The U.S. is getting there. And nobody knows how long this tragic situation will last. The big majority of adult performers will be out of business for good by the end of spring. The big porn valley productions will get the hammer a bit later, but they will get it too. Then, your sources of free porn will follow.
That's why we all need your support now more than ever. No, we are not asking for donations, nor for compassion. After all, we have chosen our jobs and any job carries a dose of professional risks. All we are asking is that you pay for your porn. That you pay what's due to us. That whenever you watch two videos for free, you at least pay to watch a third one. That whenever you push your favorite performer to interact with you for free on social networks, you at least share their paid content messages and official sites or, better, buy something from them. That you are not just selfish pricks who demand everything for free and give nothing in return.
If you pretend not to understand what I'm saying, if it doesn't move you, fine; keep having it your way. To those who are still reading and truly respect our profession, now is really the time to support your favorite performers. If you'll pay for your adult entertainment in the next months, it will allow the majority of performers to remain in business, and to resume production fully as soon as this pandemic is over.
If you wanna save free porn, now it's time to support paid porn.
Even if you don't have the means to pay for porn, you can still help. For example, if you understand and agree, it would be really helpful if you shared this message with everybody and everywhere you can.
