LOS ANGELES—The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its return to Lisbon, Portugal, for the newest installment of the TES Affiliate Conferences, on Feb. 23 to 26 at The Oitavos Hotel in Cascais.
Founded in 1996, ASACP spearheads the global fight to keep children out of and away from adult-oriented entertainment and other inappropriate materials online.
Supported by its sponsors and members, ASACP is a nonprofit organization that works with international businesses, law enforcement agencies, and other digital media industry stakeholders, including TES, to fight against child exploitation and sexual abuse.
Founded in 2009, TES Affiliate Conferences unites professionals from the online entertainment industry, e-commerce, financials, gaming and gambling, dating, forex, health, and more for an intensive three-day networking event.
An event spokesperson shared, "From the onset, TES Affiliate Conferences was intent on creating a great networking experience for its attendees and delegates. In our high-tech world, it is still of supreme importance that excellent interpersonal relationships be developed and maintained because they are the cornerstones of building a successful business, and TES is the place to do it."
TES has provided the association with a complimentary exhibition space and table at the event’s Meet Market, allowing ASACP to reach out to many business owners and operators face-to-face and promote on the event’s website. TES has also underwritten ASACP executive director Tim Henning’s admission to the event and hotel accommodations.
ASACP supports TES and its leadership in boosting the industry’s professionalism and is grateful for the assistance it receives from the event’s promoters, including a special offer for the association’s sponsors and members, who can receive a 10 percent discount on event admission by using promo code "iloveasacp" when registering online.
Henning stated, "Protecting children online is a crucial task that involves educating and guiding businesses about the latest standards and best practices for legal compliance and managing user-generated content. TES provides a unique opportunity to connect with various companies and is essential for ASACP’s educational European outreach and fundraising efforts. Moreover, with this generous discount on event admission for the ASACP family, TES is now even more accessible and important for the association to embrace."
ASACP’s travel sponsor, DialXS, is underwriting Henning’s airfare and expenses to and from the venue city of Lisbon, providing the association with the assistance it needs to carry out its international outreach efforts.
Henning expressed gratitude to DialXS and the TES Affiliate Conferences promoters for allowing him to meet with business leaders and newcomers to the industry.
Henning concluded, "This support is necessary for conveying the association’s message of keeping children away from adult-oriented entertainment. With the industry’s help, we are committed to continuing our mission of protecting children and will work relentlessly towards this goal."
ASACP utilizes the financial and material support it receives to fund its initiatives. One of the most recognized initiatives is the Child Exploitation Tipline, which has processed over 1.25 million reports since its inception.
ASACP’s Restricted To Adults (RTA) meta-labeling system is a highly effective tool for preventing minors from accessing adult-oriented web pages and apps. Finally, its market-specific Best Practices and Code of Ethics guide digital media firms toward child-safe operations.
