Arporntube Releases New Cardboard Device For AR Porn

CYBERSPACE—AR porn specialists Arporntube has put together an extensive review on the best cardboard headset for watching augmented reality adult entertainment.

“We're excited to to be able to say that augmented reality increasingly becoming more in reach for the general consumer,” said Daniel Jeeves, co-founder of Arporntube. “Without these affordable cardboard devices, AR technology would for the most-part still be limited to holding our smartphones in front of our faces, preventing augmented reality from being used to its full potential.”

With the augmented reality industry accelerating, it's only natural that the adult industry is getting its toes dipped it to the latest AR technology. Recently, porn has seen its fair share of AR apps become available for a variety of devices, including Microsoft's Hololens.

The problem with Hololens and other similar AR devices are that they're expensive and still remains limited to developers and enterprises. Fortunately, there are a few small companies that have developed cheap cardboard devices that cost around 1 percent of the cost of a Hololens headset.

For around $30 to $40, cardboard alternatives such as Aryzon, Holokit and Zapbox offer an affordable way of watching AR adult entertainment. Just like how Google Cardboard enables us to view content in VR, these devices offer a way for the general public to try augmented reality porn using nothing more than the addition of our smartphones.

“High spec mixed reality headsets such as Madgaze are available for the consumer, but these still remain relatively expensive,” Jeeves said. “And while we're confident that prices will come down and more devices will be released, these cardboard devices offer a way of experiencing augmented reality porn using a head-mounted display today.”

Mixed reality cardboard headsets first become available in 2017 with the release of Holokit, Aryzon and Zapbox. We have since seen improvements made such as better quality and better tracking. These devices used to require a marker to position the virtual objects, but the release of Apple's Arkit and Google's Arcore has removed the need for these markers, allowing us to position the objects almost anywhere we wish.

“We have been fortunate enough to be able to view AR porn on these cardboard devices. Saying that we had fun is an understatement, but more importantly, we were able to test out each device to see which offers the best experience for viewing adult content,” Jeeves said. “As a result, we were happy to put together a review which anybody is welcome to check out.”
