LOS ANGELES—Anna Bell Peaks recently hit half a million followers on Instagram and last week a 20-minute introduction to announce a weekly Facebook show had 500,000 viewers in the first 24 hours.
Social media has been an important part of Anna’s career plan since the very beginning. She understood that one of the important ways to reach a larger audience was to reach them through social media and she is very active on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. “I’ve always placed a very high value on spreading the word on social media,” she said. “We do so much work in this industry and it’s so competitive, you have to really put in the extra work just to make sure people know you’re there. It would be terrible to do all this and for nobody to know you exist! And it helps everyone – producers and directors and the other talent, everyone benefits from it. And no one more than the fans, who now have so much access that they couldn’t have dreamed of just a few years ago, and they really appreciate the work. I’ve established so many important connections through social media, I can’t imagine not doing it.”
