LOS ANGELES—Amber Lynn welcomes actress Sally Kirkland to her “Rock-N-Sexxxy UnCensored” podcast tonight at 7 PT on the United Broadcasting Network and the show’s website. Film and TV veteran Kirkland is known for her role in the motion picture drama Anna (1987), for which she garnered an Oscar nomination for Best Actress as well as receiving a Golden Globe for Best Actress, The Independent Spirit award and the L.A. Film Critics award. The Los Angeles Times named her in the Top 10 Actresses of the Decade.
Kirkland would later receive a nomination for a second Golden Globe award by an actress in a TV mini series for The Haunted (1991). She has appeared in over 250 film and television productions in a career that has spanned over six decades. Her first director was the legendary 1960s visual artist and film director Andy Warhol in 1964’s The 13 Most Beautiful Women, and she was a former member of Warhol’s The Factory.
Among the Hollywood blockbusters she has appeared in are The Sting and the classic Barbra Streisand film The Way We Were, both from 1973. Others include A Star Is Born (1976), Private Benjamin (1980) with Goldie Hawn, Cold Feet (1989), Best of the Best (1989), Oliver Stone’s JFK (1991) and Bruce Almighty (2003).
Her television appearances include Criminal Minds, The Incredible Hulk, Murder She Wrote, Charlie’s Angels, Starsky and Hutch and Roseanne, where she had a recurring role.
Still as busy acting today as ever, the newest buzz in Hollywood is that Kirkland has recently joined the cast of the highly anticipated film 80 for Brady, starring football legend Tom Brady in a story of four friends from director Kyle Marvin. She joins an all-star cast that includes Jane Fonda, Sally Field, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, Sara Gilbert, Harry Hamlin and others.
