Afterglow Offers Exercise in 'Discovering Your Sexual Boundaries'

AUSTIN, Tex.—Sex-positive erotica platform afterglow today debuted a guided somatic exercise from author and educator Adrienne Maree Brown available exclusively at xoafterglow.com.

With a focus on alleviating tension and stress from the body in order to allow for building pleasurable sensaions, the exercise, presented under the title "Discovering Your Sexual Boundaries," is an original centering practice derived from generative somatics, which Brown pairs with guiding questions to help afterglow members feel, generate and articulate their own jouneys.

"Somatic sex coaching is not new, but it is seeing a boost in popularity, thanks to people's desire to 're-awaken' after a year of being locked away at home and enhance our personal connections through intimacy," afterglow CEO and founder Lilly Sparks said. "Brown is much more than a 'pleasure activist' who is committed to healing and opening up to joy from the inside out, she is a warrior who uses her ever-evolving knowledge, skills and ideas to help transform the way we see the world and make it a better place for all of us to live."

In order to fully engage with the exercise, Brown advises participants to reserve an uninterrupted 15 minutes and a quiet spot where they can feel comfortable.

Adrienne Maree Brown is the author of We Will Not Cancel Us and Other Dreams of Transformative JusticePleasure Activism: The Politics of Feeling Good and Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds, and the co-editor of Octavia’s Brood: Science Fiction from Social Justice Movements. She is also the co-host of the "How to Survive the End of the World" and "Octavia’s Parables" podcasts. Brown is currently based in Detroit.
