CHARLOTTE, N.C.—AEBN (Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network) has published an analysis of porn viewer buying trends and demographics for this year, with special emphasis on age and gender.
The study takes a close look at viewers on both straight and gay sides of the adult Video-on-Demand (VOD) market, as it helps reveal what kinds of porn people watch. To read the full report, click here.
The study shows that porn viewing habits of men and women of all ages are similar in many aspects, but there are some changes taking place. Several years ago, for instance, AEBN study showed more women buying male/male gay content. The study revealed that women viewing gay male porn has increased from 16 percent in 2015 to 35 percent in 2020.
Altogether, male viewership numbers remain strong, but the number of women watching is continuing to rise.
While reliable demographic info has always been a topic of informed speculation around the adult industry, it’s only recently that the tools for accurately reporting gender and age of online users have become widely available. Using these tools AEBN examined the growth trends, favored categories, and even at what age men and women are more likely to pay for their porn.
