CANOGA PARK, Calif.—The popularity and profitability of adult-themed parodies has not been lost on adult manufacturers Zero Tolerance Entertainment, Third Degree Films and Black Ice Limited, as the companies Friday announced their 2010 parody production schedule.
For Third Degree Films the parody genre in not unchartered territory. In 2009 the company received critical acclaim for their satire of the television show TMZ—TM Sleaze. While TM Sleaze featured a series of celebrity lampooned scenes, the parodies scheduled for 2010—Family Guy XXX and Californication XXX—will be more scripted and consistent with the mainstream series.
Zero Tolerance Entertainment, who recently announced the scheduled parody of MTV's Jersey Shore, plans to satire, both, a hit television show—To Catch a Predator (scheduled to be released this February)—and a successful film franchise - Saw.
Finally, Black Ice Limited announced their plans to ride the parody wave by releasing XXX take-offs on the ethnic-themed feature films—Barbershop and the 1995 Ice Cube, Bernie Mac and Chris Tucker hit, Friday.
