Wicked's Women & Men Rack Up 18 NightMoves Nominations

LOS ANGELES, CA/TAMPA, FL—VH1 Behind The Music staple Bob Seger famously sang, “I used her, she used me, but neither one cared—we were getting our share” in his '70s radio anthem “Night Moves.” Today, thanks to the announcement of the 22nd Annual NightMoves Awards nominations, Canoga Park-based industry leader Wicked Pictures is getting its share—of the glory. The company’s directors and performers have received 18 major accolades, their highest NightMoves tally to date.

Over half of the nominations went to veteran contract performer, writer and filmmaker Stormy Daniels and four-time consecutive AVN Director of the Year Axel Braun. Ms. Daniels' fine work in front of the camera was recognized in the Best Female Performer category, while the overall excellence of her output as a filmmaker earned a Best Director (Features) nomination. Specific Best Feature Production nominations went to her lighthearted couples picture Switch and her brooding erotic thriller Crime of Passion. Her enduring popularity as a live performer was recognized with a Best Feature Dancer (Adult Performer) nomination.

Master parody creator Braun's five nominations included acknowledgement in the Best Director (Parody) category, while individual Best Parody nominations went to his AAAAA AVN Editor's Choice 24 XXX: An Axel Braun Parody and his first production for the new Wicked Fairy Tales line, the AVN and NightMoves Editor's Choice Snow White XXX: An Axel Braun Parody. His skill in creating high-energy all-sex content was rewarded with a Best All-Sex Release nomination for Riley Goes Gonzo (starring Axel Braun Productions contract star Riley Steele) while I Fucked My Stepmom earned recognition in the Best Cougar/MILF Release category.

The continuing high quality of creator Brad Armstrong’s work for Wicked was championed with an overall nomination for Best Director (Features), while his thrice award-winning feature Underworld was honored with a Best Feature Production nomination.

Writer, performer, director, emerging sexual wellness authority and Underworld star Jessica Drake was similarly recognized, with her AVN award-winning educational line Jessica Drake's Guide to Wicked Sex earning a Best On-Going Series nomination.

Wicked Girl and 2014 AVN Awards Show co-host Samantha Saint received a nomination for Best Feature Dancer (Adult Performer) while a Best Female Performer nomination also went to the most recent addition to the Wicked Family, top actress, author and Underworld co-star Asa Akira.

Two additional Wicked releases, Mother's Day 2 and The Best In XXX, were nominated in the Best Cougar/MILF Release and Best All Sex Release categories, respectively. And finally, Wicked Pictures received a Best Company nomination.

For his part, Wicked Pictures President and Owner Steve Orenstein couldn't be more pleased to see his filmmakers and performers rewarded so handsomely, observing, "I am very happy to see so many of our directors and contract stars nominated for such a wide range of projects. We strive to create the best movies possible and appreciate NightMoves for noticing.”

The 22nd Annual NightMoves Awards Show will be held October 12 in Tampa, Florida. In a prepared statement, event organizers announced, “The NightMoves Awards were started in 1993 and are the third oldest, continuously running adult awards show in the United States. The NightMoves Awards are an offshoot of NightMoves magazine, owned and operated by Paul and Tracy Allen. The NightMoves Awards were the first to allow fans to select the winners, making it the original fan-based awards. They were also the first awards show to allow online voting.”
