LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Wicked Pictures is pleased to announce that three months after Brad Armstrong's runaway hit SPEED crossed the finish line by receiving Best Epic honors at the 27th Annual XRCO Awards, the spectacular motorcycle adventure from production powerhouse Wicked Pictures proved to be equally formidable this week at the 2011 Urban X Awards.
Held Saturday July 23rd at the posh Vault Nightclub in downtown Los Angeles, the star-studded gala was hosted by Alexander DeVoe and Nyomi Banxxx. Over the course of the show, Armstrong's three disc mega-production took home the organization's Feature Movie Of The Year award, while the consistently high quality of the director's output was honored with a Feature Director Of The Year trophy. Multiple AVN Award-winning director Jonathan Morgan also fared well, winning Best Latin Release for Bottoms Up In Brazil and Best Anal Release for Tan Line Tushies. Another title, Asian Eyes, was recognized with an award for Best Asian Release.
SPEED's impressive showing Saturday rivaled its January performance at the 2011 AVN Awards, where it received Best Video Feature, Best Director - Feature and Best DVD Extras trophies. In February, the film performed similarly well at the 9th Annual XBIZ Awards, snaring both a Feature Movie Of The Year statue as well a Best Cinematography award recognizing the work of Francois Clousot, Jake Jacobs and Mark Nicholson.
To date, Armstrong's best-selling action adventure has received Best Feature honors at four major award galas, and has earned Editor's Choice reviews from several print and online media outlets, including both AVN and XBIZ. It's truly a championship season for SPEED, and Wicked Pictures is pleased to congratulate the movie's cast and crew for its ongoing success.
