LONG BEACH, Calif.—Wicked Pictures’ instructional DVD series, Jessica Drake's Guide to Wicked Sex, has been named a sponsor of the inaugural CatalystCon. The CatalystCon conference was created to inspire "exceptional conversations about sexuality" and will feature more than 40 panel discussions on various sexuality-based topics. Wicked Pictures is the exclusive adult sponsor of the conference.
"Wicked Pictures is proud to be at the forefront promoting of safe and healthy sex, from our pro-condom policies to our bestselling series, Guide to Wicked Sex," Wicked Pictures owner Steve Orenstein said. "We're happy to support CatalystCon in its efforts to improve the knowledge and understanding of sexuality."
Series creator Jessica Drake will be in attendance at CatalystCon and speaking on the panel titled "Sex Education: Out of the Classroom, into the Streets!" Drake says, "We're honored to be a part of CatalystCon. Too often, people get their sex information—or should I say misinformation—from mainstream media and online entertainment, so this conference is a proud step in the right direction for advocating healthy, positive sexuality for every adult."
The CatalystCon conference is described by organizer Dee Dennis as a “melting pot of sexuality” uniting sex educators, sexologists, sex workers, writers, activists, and anyone with a passion for creating change. “Knowledge is power, and sharing that knowledge is the first spark in igniting change” is the principle behind CatalystCon.
"Jessica Drake and Wicked Pictures are making an outstanding contribution to CatalystCon, as a sponsor and as part of our sex educators’ panel," Dennis said. "Many of us fight for sex education in our schools, but I also think sex education for adults is just as important. Jessica has an established fan base making it possible to reach people on a larger scale. One of the major messages of CatalystCon is ‘knowledge is power,’ and I feel Jessica is fulfilling that message."
CatalystCon takes place Sept. 14-16 at the Hilton Long Beach & Executive Meeting Center in Long Beach, Calif. Registration is required. For more information, visit CatalystCon.com.
